My name is Mindy Clark and I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Taylor University in 1996 and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1998. I am a third-year graduate student at Wake Forest University obtaining my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My anticipated graduation date is August 2023.
I have over nine years of experience working with high school and college students as Director of Admissions and the V.P. of Enrollment for three universities. I coached high school cheerleading for eight years and have been a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for twenty-one years. In 2016 I established Common Cents LLC to mentor women in the areas of emotional and financial health. Through the addition of counseling, I believe I can guide clients towards emotional stability, success, and better well-being.
Using Client-Centered Theory, I build a therapeutic alliance with clients based on genuine positive regard and empathy. Once a therapeutic alliance is established, I enjoy drawing from theories such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I strive to educate and support clients on skills such as emotion regulation, mindfulness, and cognitive techniques to help them build stronger relationships and desired quality of life. My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
